Mary Gilardi

Art has always been an important part of my life. I enjoyed the wonderful experience of teaching art to elementary school children for over 20 years.

Since my retirement I have been able to devote more of my time to my own artistic endeavors. I enjoy working in watercolor, colored pencil and oil.

I became interested in Botanical art after taking a class at Filoli in Woodside, Ca. and in October 2013 I received A Certificate of Completion from their Botanical Art Certificate program. My work was accepted to the Filoli Spring 2010 Teacher Student Exhibit and to the Filoli International Juried Botanical Art exhibit in the spring of 2014.

I am a member of the American Society of Botanical Artists and the Northern California Society of Botanical Artists. I have exhibited paintings with the NCalSBA in their annual exhibit at the University of California Botanical Gardens in Berkeley. Two of my paintings were accepted into the NCalSBA Alcatraz Florilegium. I exhibited a painting in the ASBA International Small Works Exhibit in October 2017.

I am a member of the Marin County Watercolor Society and I have exhibited my work in several MCWS shows. My paintings have also been accepted to other juried exhibitions in Northern California and I have also displayed my work in several local art exhibitions.

I am currently working with the NCalSBA as a program manager in creating a Florilegium of Mt. Tamalpais, in Marin County. Four of my paintings have been accepted to this exhibit.
